How to Play

Master the battlefield. Every position, every angle, every decision matters.

⚔ The Basics

WarChesst is a turn-based tactical game played on a 10×10 grid. Each player commands an army of units — one moves per turn. The goal is simple: destroy the enemy Commander.

Build Your Army

Pick units from your collection. You must include exactly one Commander — your most important piece.

2️⃣

Place Your Units

Deploy your army in your starting rows. Position matters — front line tanks protect back line marksmen.

3️⃣

Take Turns

Each turn, select one unit. Move it, attack an enemy, use an ability, or a combination.

4️⃣

Kill the Commander

The first player to destroy the opponent's Commander wins. Protect yours at all costs.

🧭 Facing Direction

Every unit faces a direction. Attacking from the right angle is critical:

Frontal

Standard damage. The enemy sees you coming.

Side Attack

+15% bonus damage from flanking.

Backstab

+30% bonus damage — devastating ambush.

💡 Tip: After your unit acts, you choose which direction it faces. Position defensively to avoid exposing your back to the enemy.

💥 Combat

Damage is calculated as:

Damage = (Attack × Facing Multiplier) − Defense

Units have Attack, Defense, Health, and Movement Range stats. Melee units attack adjacent tiles; Marksmen can attack at range 2-3.

✨ Abilities

Most units have a unique ability. Abilities fall into three categories:

Active

Manually activated with a target. Has a cooldown. Examples: Fire Bomb, Reality Tear, Blood Sacrifice.

Passive

Triggers automatically in certain conditions. Examples: Berserk Charge, Phase Strike, Deathless.

🔵

Aura

Affects nearby allies or enemies continuously. Examples: War Drums, Inspiring Presence, Void Shield.

PvE (vs AI)

Battle three difficulty levels: Easy, Normal, and Brutal. Perfect for learning units and strategies.

PvP (Ranked)

Server-authoritative competitive matches. Climb from Bronze to Legend on the ranked ladder.
